01 · Pitch

20-second pitch

The V1 Mid is Godox's newest and lightest round-head flash — a compact 55Ws unit announced February 2, 2026, positioned below the V1 rather than replacing it. It brings the soft, even round-head look to a smaller, lighter body with a 2-inch touchscreen, USB-C charging, and the magnetic-accessory system. Godox's own page writes the name as 'V1 mid'; Adorama sells the same unit as the Flashpoint Zoom Li-ion X Mid R2. Be upfront that it is a brand-new product with no long-term reliability reviews yet, and that its power is lower than the V1's.

Who is the customer?

Travel, street, and lightweight event shooters who want to carry less Photographers who like the round-head look but want a smaller, lighter body Mirrorless owners stepping up from a built-in or tiny flash Customers who want USB-C charging and a touchscreen interface Buyers comparing it with the V1 and V1 Pro

02 · Specs

Five V1 Mid specs to memorize

  1. About 55Ws (a retailer-listed figure — Godox hasn't published a Ws or guide number) with a round head and a 24–105mm zoom.
  2. 7.2V/2200mAh Li-ion battery rated for roughly 650 full-power flashes, USB-C charging, and recycle as fast as 1.7 seconds.
  3. HSS to 1/8000s (up to 1/80000s with Sony global-shutter cameras), with flash duration around 1/600–1/20000s (t0.1).
  4. 2.4G X-system wireless as a transmitter or receiver with a rated 70m range, and a 2W LED modeling lamp at 5300K.
  5. A 2-inch touchscreen plus a dial; about 329g without battery and 413g with it; works with the AK-R1 magnetic accessory kit and an S3 bracket for Bowens modifiers.

03 · Signature feature

The feature that sells it: the round-head look in the smallest Godox body

The V1 Mid keeps the round head that makes bounce and direct flash look soft and even, but trims the size and weight — about 413g with battery — so it's easier to carry all day. It also pairs a touchscreen with USB-C charging and the same magnetic accessory ecosystem as the V1 family.

What to say on the sales floor

Lead with size, weight, and battery life. Then be honest: it has lower power than the V1 (about 55Ws versus 76Ws), so it's less able to overpower strong sunlight, and Godox cut most of the physical buttons. There is also no SU-1 sub-flash and no long-term reliability track record yet.

04 · Video

Video: round-head quality in a small body

A demo video should show the V1 Mid in direct and bounced use, with the magnetic dome or diffuser attached, then compare its size to a V1 so customers can see the difference.

Practical starting settings

For the demo unit: attach the magnetic dome, fire a portrait in TTL, then swap to bounce and show how the touchscreen changes power.

05 · Discovery & demo

Ten discovery questions

  1. Is light weight your main priority?
  2. Do you like the round-head look for your portraits?
  3. How much power do you actually need — fill, bounce, or fighting sun?
  4. What camera system are you on?
  5. Do you want a touchscreen interface or physical dials?
  6. Do you shoot long days where battery life matters?
  7. Are you comparing this against the V1 or V1 Pro?
  8. Do you want to use magnetic modifiers?
  9. Will you use it off-camera wirelessly?
  10. What frustrates you about your current flash?

Five-minute sales-floor demo

  1. Compare the size to a V1. Hold the V1 Mid next to a V1 and V1 Pro.Size and weight are the V1 Mid's main advantage.
  2. Show the touchscreen. Adjust power and modes on the 2-inch screen.Highlights the modern interface.
  3. Attach a magnetic modifier. Use the AK-R1 kit to snap on a dome or diffuser.Shows the round-head accessory system.
  4. Charge over USB-C. Show the USB-C charging port.A convenience over older V1 designs.
  5. Be upfront about power. Say that it's about 55Ws versus the V1's 76Ws.Prevents disappointment in bright sun.

06 · Objections

Common objections and answers

"Why not the V1 instead?"

The V1 has more power (76Ws vs about 55Ws) and a larger battery. The V1 Mid is smaller, lighter, and has a touchscreen and USB-C charging.

"What is its power?"

Retailers list about 55Ws, but Godox hasn't published a Ws or guide number, so treat it as approximate.

"Is it proven?"

It launched in February 2026, so there are no long-term reliability reviews yet.

"Does it come with a sub-flash?"

No. Digital Camera World noted it has no SU-1 sub-flash — that comes with the V1 Pro and V100.

"What's with the controls?"

DPReview noted Godox removed most buttons and dials in favor of the touchscreen.

Closing question: "If you want the round-head look and to carry as little as possible, does the V1 Mid's lower power still cover what you shoot?"

Lead with size and the touchscreen, be honest about lower power and the lack of long-term reviews, and offer the V1 or V1 Pro for more output.
